A study on some physical and chemical parameters in drinking water resources

With growing population in the world, groundwater resources play major role in drinking water supply. The purpose of thisresearch is to determine the quality of Saravan’ village’s drinking water resources which is located in Guilan province.Sampleswere taken for testingsome physical and chemical characteristics of drinking water including turbidity, EC, pH, TDS, totalalkalinity, nitrate, ammonia and calcium.The parameters were measured based on the standard method book and compare thembased on Iran's national standard. Average of physical and chemical parameters during three seasons including turbidity, EC, pH,TDS, Total alkalinity, Nitrate, Ammonia, Calcium, remaining chlorine were ۲.۳۵± ۰.۲۴, ۱۲۲۰.۴۳ ± ۳۵.۳۱, ۷.۲۴ ± ۰.۰۴, ۹۳۵.۴۴ ±۶۱.۹۷, ۴۰۴.۵۶ ± ۱۲.۷۷, ۶.۱۴ ± ۰.۶۲, ۰.۲۹ ± ۰.۰۳, ۱۵۷.۲ ± ۷.۴۱and ۰ respectively.According to the obtained results, all theparameters were found to be within the permissible Iranian standards and the quality of Saravan’ village’s drinking water is goodfor consumers.
