Abstract:

This study conducts a comparative examination of linguistic strategies and ideological narratives inPersian and English news agencies. Utilizing Van Dijk theory of discourse and ideology, this researchanalyzes how language is used to construct and convey ideological perspectives in two different cultural andlinguistic contexts. The research method involves a critical discourse analysis of ۵۰ news articles from ISNA,BBC News, and CNN published within [mention time frame]. The findings of this study demonstrate thatlinguistic strategies such as lexical choices, framing techniques, use of intertextuality, and repetition play asignificant role in shaping ideological narratives in both languages. However, the application of thesestrategies in Persian and English news agencies shows notable differences, reflecting distinct cultural valuesand socio-political contexts. This study contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of language inshaping public opinion and representing social realities in news media and has important implications formedia literacy and intercultural communication.
