Abstract:

Diarrhea" has a significant impact on sheep production efficiency, but direct microbial feeding (DFM) can be used to decrease it. This study aimed to investigate the effect of probiotic tannase-bacterial additive on the incidence of diarrhea in weaning lambs fed with pomegranate peel (PP). A total of ۳۶ newborn lambs were randomly divided between the treatments (۴x۹): basal diet, PP, DFM, and PP+DFM. DFM was prepared freshly and contained ۴۹ tannase- producing strains with antipathogenic potential. The tannase additive was administrated orallyone mL before feeding. Daily observations of diarrhea were recorded for each lamb andanalysed statically. According to the results, the control group had the highest diarrhea score, while the PP and PP+DFM groups had the lowest score, respectively (P<۰.۰۵). Thesimultaneous use of PP and DFM in weaning lambs significantly reduced the diarrhea score
