Abstract:
Emerging within the construction industry, low-damage building technology represents a novelapproach aimed at mitigating the impact of earthquakes on structures. This paper systematicallyreviews recent advances in this technology, emphasizing benefits like enhanced resilience and safety, along with reduced economic and social costs. Despite its potential, challenges such as the need forspecialized materials and increased construction expenses exist. In conclusion, the paper asserts thatlow-damage building technology holds substantial promise in curtailing earthquake-induced damageand bolstering building resilience. It not only offers insights into the future of the construction industrybut also underscores the necessity for innovative approaches to address challenges posed by naturaldisasters. The findings have implications for policymakers, construction professionals, and researcherscommitted to advancing building safety and resilience in earthquake-prone regions. By spotlightingrecent progress in low-damage building technology, this review contributes to shaping future researchand development in this crucial domain.
