Abstract:
The use of hollow fiber membrane microextraction in analytical chemistry has been increasing as the technique is a simple and efficient method for the extraction of trace organic compounds fromenvironmental matrices. In this paper, a three phase hollow fiber-based liquid phase microextraction (HFLPME)combined with a HPLC procedure using UV-Vis detection has been developed for the determination of atorvastatin in biological sample. A Q3/2 Accurel PP polypropylene hollow fibersupporting 1-octanol was used between two aqueous solution (pH 4) as donor phase and (pH 11) asacceptor phase. Parameters such as extraction solvent, agitation of the sample, salt addition and extraction time were controlled and optimized. The proposed method was applied to the determination of the analyte in human urine and in environmental water and urine samples
