Degreasing Tests: Methods and Evaluations

Metals are widely utilized in automotive industry especially in cars and its related device. It has been proven corrosion is occurred to metals and lead to oxidation reaction. Thus, it is really important to protect the surface of metals. The most common way is coating and the usual method for this purpose is phosphitizing including a part named Degreasing method. In this research, we examined some different protective oil and degreasers to find the best and optimized degreasers by Water/Oil Separation method. After applying this method, it was found that (number 2) oil was the optimized one among other oils and the new degreasers was the best degreaser.
