Teleseismic estimates of earthquake source slowness as a measure of near-field ground motion: Seismic hazard in Iran

Using a dataset of ۲۵ earthquakes with well-resolved source attributes in the Iranianplateau, we show that teleseismic estimates of source slowness parameter are reliable alter۱۰natives to the local strong ground motion data. Our results show a meaningful correlationbetween high-frequency strong motion and the global estimates. We present an analysis ofthe benefits and shortcomings of our proposed algorithm.
