Abstract:

The construction industry is increasingly transitioning towards sustainable practices, with green concrete emerging as a viable alternative to traditional cement-based materials. However, limitations such as reduced mechanical strength and durability hinder its widespread adoption. This study investigates the integration of polymer composite materials, including glass fibers and epoxy resins, into green concrete to address these challenges. Experimental results revealed a ۲۰% improvement in compressive strength (۴۲ MPa compared to ۳۵ MPa in the reference mix) and a ۳۰% increase in flexural strength (۶.۵ MPa versus ۵.۵ MPa). Durability tests showed a significant reduction in water penetration depth (۶ mm compared to ۱۴ mm) and chloride ion permeability, with a ۴۰% lower charge passed. Thermogravimetric analysis confirmed enhanced thermal stability, while finite element analysis (FEA) validated these findings, demonstrating a ۲۵% longer fatigue life and delayed crack propagation. These results highlight the potential of polymer composites in enhancing the performance of green concrete, making it suitable for demanding structural applications. The study underscores the importance of innovation in sustainable materials to address global environmental challenges. Future research should focus on lifecycle assessments, cost optimization, and the long-term performance of polymer-reinforced green concrete in real-world environments.
