Investigating hydroacoustic absorbers and their types abstract

The development of underwater detection systems in recent years has increased the need to develop sound-absorbing materials to improve the stealth characteristics of underwater equipment. Sound-absorbing materials come in various types, including polymer absorbers, ceramic absorbers, metal-based absorbers, and sound-absorbing metamaterials. To compare the performance of hydro-acoustic absorbers, parameters such as absorption coefficient, acoustic impedance, and dynamic modulus play a decisive role. In this article, a review of the types of hydro-acoustic absorbers is presented and the relationships between their parameters are presented.
