Abstract:

Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and decision support systems (DSS) in project management revolutionizes traditional practices by providing real-time, data-driven insights. This paper explores the transformative potential of AI-enhanced DSS, focusing on their ability to harness big data for improved decision-making and operational efficiency. It examines the sources and types of big data in project environments, the role of AI in processing and analyzing this data, and the core features of real-time DSS, including predictive and prescriptive analytics. Furthermore, the paper presents case studies showcasing successful implementations across various industries. It discusses the opportunities and challenges in adopting these technologies, including issues related to data privacy, algorithmic bias, and integration with legacy systems. By highlighting the role of emerging technologies such as IoT, blockchain, and ۵G, this study emphasizes the future directions of AI-driven DSS and their scalability for dynamic, multi-stakeholder projects. The findings underscore the significant benefits of integrating big data with AI, enabling proactive risk management, resource optimization, and adaptive project methodologies such as agile and hybrid models. While challenges remain, the paper concludes that AI-enhanced DSS represents a critical tool for achieving greater accuracy, agility, and innovation in project management, paving the way for data-informed strategies in increasingly complex environments.
