Abstract:

Background and Aim: This study aimed to investigate the effect of ten week of ginger supplementation on Sleep quality in obese women following Pilates exercise training. Methods: This study is a quasi-experimental study. In this study, ۳۰ obese women with type ۲ diabetes were randomly divided into three groups: supplement (۱۰), placebo (۱۰), and control (۱۰). The training protocol consisted of ten weeks of Pilates exercise. The supplement group consumed ۲ grams of ginger powder daily for ten weeks. Result: The results showed that ten weeks of ginger supplementation followed by Pilates aerobic training had a significant effect on Sleep quality (P=۰.۰۵) in obese women in the supplement and placebo groups. Conclusion: The results of this study showed that Pilates training combined with daily consumption of ۲ grams of ginger supplements for ten weeks increased Sleep quality in obese women.
