Abstract:
Healthcare systems worldwide are increasingly challenged by natural disasters, pandemics, and large-scale emergencies, necessitating innovative solutions for effective crisis management. This review explores the role of digital health technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing hospital crisis response, focusing on predictive analytics, triage systems, robotics, mental health support, and communication tools. Findings demonstrate that AI-driven predictive modeling improves early warning capabilities; AI-assisted triage systems optimize resource allocation; robotics reduce healthcare worker exposure and enhance emergency delivery; and digital tools expand mental health and communication support. Ethical challenges, including bias, data privacy, and equitable access, remain significant barriers to implementation. Digital health and AI technologies offer transformative potential for hospital crisis response by enhancing resilience, optimizing resources, and improving patient outcomes. With proper governance and ethical frameworks, these innovations can significantly strengthen global healthcare preparedness for future crises.
