Abstract:
In today’s knowledge-intensive business environment, effectively managing organizational knowledge has become critical for achieving innovation, adaptability, and sustained competitive advantage. Despite the growing recognition of knowledge management (KM) as a strategic organizational practice, the role of human resource management (HRM) in enabling KM processes remains underexplored in an integrative manner. This study aims to systematically review the literature on the intersection of HRM and KM, providing a comprehensive understanding of how HRM practices influence knowledge creation, sharing, retention, and application within organizations. The research employs a systematic literature review (SLR) methodology, which involves a structured and replicable process for identifying, evaluating, and synthesizing relevant empirical and conceptual studies. This approach ensures a rigorous, transparent, and unbiased analysis, enabling the consolidation of findings from diverse organizational contexts. The findings of this review indicate that HRM practices play a pivotal role in facilitating effective KM. The synthesis demonstrates that HRM not only shapes individual behaviours and capabilities but also influences organizational culture and knowledge flows, thereby enhancing innovation, learning, and overall performance. The study offers both theoretical and practical insights, emphasizing that aligning HRM strategies with KM objectives is essential for leveraging intellectual capital and sustaining competitive advantage in dynamic and complex business environments.
