Abstract:
Cable-stayed bridges exhibit complex dynamic behavior due to interactions among cables, towers, and girders. Traditional studies often focus on a limited set of parameters, overlooking the full spectrum that governs these structures. In this study, we perform a comprehensive sensitivity analysis on the Quincy Bayview Bridge by evaluating ۳۸ structural parameters, including material properties, geometric dimensions, and cable cross-sectional areas. We use the Standard Regression Coefficients (SRC) method and its rank-based variant (SRRC) to quantify each parameter's influence on the bridge's natural frequencies. Our results show that parameters from both the deck and cable systems significantly affect dynamic responses, mainly through their coupled interactions. This analysis reduces the effective dimensionality of the FE model and guides future model calibration for structural health monitoring. Our work offers a practical framework to enhance prediction accuracy by considering all structural components, thereby improving the understanding of cable-stayed bridge dynamics.
