The Effect of Mindfulness Training on Entrepreneurial Self-Efficacy and Career Adaptability in Adolescents: A Study in Tehran

Abstract:

This study investigated the impact of mindfulness training on entrepreneurial self-efficacy and career adaptability among adolescents in Tehran. A quasi-experimental design with pre-test, post-test, follow-up, and control group was employed. Out of ۳۰۷ female students aged ۱۳ to ۱۶, ۲۹ participants were randomly assigned to experimental and control groups. The experimental group received eight sessions of mindfulness training. Data were analyzed using analysis of covariance (ANCOVA) and correlation tests. Findings revealed that mindfulness training significantly improved entrepreneurial self-efficacy (F = ۱۱۰.۲۰, p < ۰.۰۰۱, η² = ۰.۴۰۱) and career adaptability (F = ۵۱.۶۸, p < ۰.۰۰۱, η² = ۰.۳۶۲). Moreover, entrepreneurial self-efficacy and career adaptability were positively correlated in both post-test (r = ۰.۷۶۶, p < ۰.۰۰۱) and follow-up (r = ۰.۶۸۳, p < ۰.۰۰۱) phases. Overall, mindfulness training appears to be an effective approach for enhancing adolescents’ psychological and career-related competencies.
