Abstract:
Adolescence is one of the most critical and influential stages in human personality development, characterized by extensive biological, cognitive, and emotional changes. Many adolescents experience negative emotions, excessive self-criticism, and a sense of failure during this period, leading to reduced self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. The study aimed to examine the effectiveness of a mindfulness program in increasing self-compassion and reducing self-criticism among adolescents. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest–posttest and a control group. Results showed that the mindfulness program significantly increased self-compassion and decreased self-criticism in the experimental group compared to the control group. The conclusion suggests that mindfulness programs can be effective in preventing and treating adolescents' emotional problems.
