Abstract:

This study explores the impact of Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs) on reducing rumination and enhancing psychological well-being among university students, emphasizing the mediating role of self-monitoring. The research was conducted among undergraduate and graduate students aged ۲۰ to ۲۵ at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. The findings revealed a significant reduction in rumination and a corresponding improvement in psychological well-being following the intervention. Furthermore, self-monitoring demonstrated a strong mediating effect, amplifying the positive outcomes of MBIs on mental health indicators. These results underscore the importance of integrating self-monitoring practices into mindfulness training to enhance emotional regulation and psychological resilience among young adults in academic environments.
