Abstract:
Pesticide residues (PRS) in the food chain pose significant risks to human health and the environment. This comprehensive review explores advanced technologies for PR removal from agricultural products, water, and food. Physical methods (e.g., washing with alkaline solutions, drying), chemical approaches (e.g., advanced oxidation processes), biological methods (e.g., enzyme-based and microbial degradation), nanotechnology, and emerging techniques like cold plasma are evaluated. Drawing on over ۶۰ recent studies, these technologies achieve up to ۹۰% PR removal while preserving food quality. Challenges, scalability, and future prospects are discussed, with insights based on data up to September ۲۰۲۵
