Abstract:
The current era of medical education, characterized by rapid change and transformation, requires a fundamental rethinking of teaching methods, learning-teaching processes, and evaluation systems. The need to integrate emerging and re-emerging educational approaches is increasingly evident. In this context, focusing on the development of health system-based educational models and reforming the structure of medical education to meet the evolving needs of the healthcare community, the public, and service recipients has become inevitable. Given its close and intrinsic connection with the health of the population and its pivotal role in the development of healthcare services, the medical education system must adopt a dynamic and forward-looking perspective. Accordingly, this review study was conducted to reconsider the practices of emerging and re-emerging education in the medical education system. The findings indicated that medical education must keep pace with scientific, technological, and social developments to train competent, creative, and responsive human resources. Therefore, revising curricula, redefining the roles of faculty and students, and employing modern educational technologies-such as virtual reality, blended learning, and evidence-based education-have become essential requirements.
