Abstract:

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of anger management training on reducing domestic violence in couple relationships. The subjects were ۲۰ couples (۴۰ husbands and wives) who were selected from among the clients of the Alborz Province Dispute Resolution Council in ۱۴۰۴. This number was randomly assigned to two experimental and control groups. First, the subjects answered the revised Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS-۲) questionnaire and the demographic information questionnaire. Then, they were exposed to anger management training sessions. The research data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and one-way variance test and SPSS version ۲۵ software. Analysis of variance showed that there was a significant difference at the p level between the CTS-۲ scores in the pre-test and post-test in the two experimental and control groups, meaning that the couples who participated in the training sessions reported less violence in the post-test.The aim of the present study was to investigate the effectiveness of anger management training on reducing domestic violence in couple relationships.
