Abstract:

The tourism, hospitality, and leisure (THL) sector is a major driver of worldwide economic growth, but it has problems with workers, such as child labor, high turnover, poor salaries, unsafe working conditions, and insufficient protection. Human capital is still very important since the skills, knowledge, and involvement of employees have a direct effect on service quality, competitiveness, and long-term sustainability. Child labor is especially common in informal and economically weak sectors, which shows how important it is to have strong laws and social programs. International norms, such as ILO conventions, protect workers who are at risk, but enforcement is still not consistent, which leads to differences in labor rights and conditions. To make the industry stronger, there have to be uniform labor laws, fair pay, flexible work hours, and a focus on diversity management. New technology, like AI and digital tools, gives businesses more ways to improve service quality, labor management, and sustainable practices. To make sure that the global tourist industry grows in a way that is socially responsible, sustainable, and competitive, it is important to promote fair working conditions, reduce child labor, and invest in human capital.
