Abstract:
In this work, Pt nanoparticles were decorated on graphene and their electro catalytic activities for methanol oxidation were investigated. The procedureinvolved the synthesis of the composite of graphene nanosheets decorated by Pt nanoparticles have been prepared via reduction of graphite oxide and H2PtCl6 inone pot. The morphology and distribution of Pt nanoparticles were characterized by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM) and X-raydiffraction (XRD). The electrocatalytic activities of Pt/graphene catalysts were investigated by cyclic voltammetry (CV) in methanol aqueous solution.Electrochemical experiments show that the composite has superior catalytic performance toward methanol oxidation indicating the graphene may have a splendidfuture as catalysts carrier in electrocatalysis and Direct methanol fuel cell
