Abstract:
In this work, SAPO-34 and SAPO-5 catalysts with crystallite size of 600and 450 nm, respectively, were synthesized. The as synthesizednanocatalysts were characterized using XRD, SEM, EDX, BET surfacearea and NH3-TPD ammonia. The reaction of methanol to light olefins wasthen evaluated by these catalysts. The Effect of some experimentalparameters on the conversion of methanol to light olefins in term ofselectivity to ethulene and propylene was investigated. The investigatedparameters were temperature and weight hourly space velocity (WHSV).Temperature range of 300-400 °C and WHSV of 7.87 and 2.75 h-1 wereevaluated. The results of the study showed that both Temperature andWHSV have a considerable influence on the selectivity toward light olefins. The experiments indicate that lower WHSV has a great influence on theincrease of olefin selectivity over both nanocatalysts. In addition, thetemperature of 400 °C was led to the best selectivity results.
