Health status of wheat seed in breeder ٣ and basic categories in Semnan province against T. laevis in order to issue national seed standard

Seed health beside other seed quality has special importance. One of the ways, to save the productand have sustainable agriculture is issuing national seed standard base on domestic data. Study inthe year ١٣٩١ by collecting ٧ seed samples from two breeder ٣ and basic categories of Pishtazvariety from Semnan province carried out. Washing test base on ISTA rules was done in seed andplant registration and certification research institute Karaj-Iran. Average contamination incategories breeder ٣ and basic was ٢.٦ and ٨.٥ no. of spores/seed. This amount of sporecontamination as compare to previous studies carried in years ١٣٨٨ and ١٣٨٩ with average ١.٦ and١.٨ for breeder ٣ and ١.٨ and ٥.٤ for basic categories indicate increasing amount of spores/seed.Considering the result, higher care regarding production management should be taken by producerfor production of healthier seed in order to avoid scattering of casual agent and enhancement ofdamage in breeder ٣ and basic categories. Beside that accurate seed treatment is necessary.
