Voltage Regulation and Harmonic Isolation in Imbalance Power Distribution Systems by Shunt Hybrid Filter abstract
This paper deals with a special type of Shunt Hybrid Active Filter (SHAF), consisting of activeand passive filter connected in series with each other. A new control scheme is presented thatenables SHAF to perform both voltage regulation and harmonic isolation in imbalance powerdistribution systems. In` proposed scheme, the voltage regulation is implemented through injectionand/or absorption of reactive power into the power system by controlling the fundamentalcomponent of the inverter generated voltage. To perform harmonic isolation between power systemand nonlinear loads, a new harmonic extraction method is proposed which can extract the harmoniccomponents of the line current even in present of fundamental negative sequence. In order to validate the proposed scheme, a typical power distribution system including differenttypes of linear and nonlinear loads is simulated and the results are presented.
