Feminine Language and Feminity of Language abstract

Any discussion about feminine language cannot ignore textual feminity, especially when the subject of discussion is women’s contemporary poetry. In this situation, feminity or non-feminity of language will definitely be an aspect of the text. Before any discussion about feminine language, the role of language in poetic and literary expressions will be discussed briefly. Language, as the most effective expressive tool, is one of the most important elements of Persian poetry. It has undergone a lot of changes and developments. A close look at developments and changes in language and contemporary poetry shows that they have moved from literary and scholarly use to colloquial use. Consequently, in the past decades, profound textual changes have occurred. If we seek to examine the language of poetry throughout these decades, we have to study the poetic language from Constitutional Period to the present time. Since the focus of this study is feminine language in poetry, only feminine language and its role in women’s contemporary poetry will be examined. At the beginning, the reasons behind the textual-lingual developments in women’s poetry will be reviewed.
