Abstract:
It is evident that hand-made tools can be effective means to improve the teaching and learning processes. This study aims to evaluate the educational effectiveness of using hand-madetrigonometric ruler in teaching trigonometry to students of the first grade in high school in terms of learning and understanding the concept of viewing angle. Our sample consist of two groups of students studying at the first grade in Zahedan. The first group was taught using a trigonometricruler and the other was taught using the half-protractor method. The results showed that the mean scores of the ruler group were higher than the other. Since both group used the hand-made tools, the difference was not statistically significant at the 95% confidence level.
