Abstract:

Magnetite nanofluids supported on various mixtures of water and EG were applied to be used for furtherenhancement of heat transfer properties under the influence of an alternating magnetic field. TEM photograph confirmedthe formation of highly dispersed cluster-like nanoparticles, having mean particle size of around 75 nm. Also, XRDspectrum showed that magnetite nanoparticles were composed of ca. 6-nm crystallites. According to VSM analysis, Fe3O4nanoparticles were found to have superparamagnetic characteristics. Heat transfer properties of the examined magnetitenanofluids based on various concentrations of water and EG were considerably enhanced under the influence of analternating magnetic field. Decreasing the number of connected stators led to the thermal fluctuations, and then, theaugmentation of mean h values. Thermal fluctuations at high frequency occurred as a result of Neel mechanism.
