Abstract:

In the present study, the governing equations for solid and gas phase of a one-dimensional two-stage porous burner is considered. The effect of combustion is treated by adding a heat source term with three different profiles: a constant source, a linear source and a combination of a source in preheating zone and a linear source in combustion zone. Also a parametric study, in which the properties of the two sections are varied independently, is presented. The results show the linear heat source has a better agreement with existing numerical methods.
