Abstract:
In this article, an all-optical AND logic gate founded on straight waveguide structure, bent waveguide, and Y-shaped waveguide of photonic crystal is suggested. Photonic crystal lattice structure is triangular and formed of dielectric rods in a substrate of air. In this project, simulation is done in a way that, in a certain frequency range, logic gate acts using appropriate basic waveguide connections as a gate with AND function. The required power consumption for the gate performance is exact low. In the proposal, bent waveguides are charity for the increase of output transmission optical power. Linearity is distinctive characteristic of the proposed logic gate. The input optical power for the proper operation of the gate is simulated on 50mW and switching time to be 0.31ps. The extinction ratio of this logic gate is 6.22dB. Methods of calculation in numerical analysis are based on two PWE and FDTD methods.
