Abstract:
cheduling of production in Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FMSs) has been extensively investigated over the past years and it continues to attract the interest of both academic researchers and engineers. The generation of new and modified production schedules is becoming a necessity in today’s complex manufacturing environment.In this paper, we designed a mathematical model for achieving better performance of real-time scheduling tasks in a flexible manufacturing system (FMS). The proposed mathematical model is applicable to the scheduling of a flexible manufacturing cell (FMC) and also a multi-machine flexible manufacturing system (MMFMS).In order to evaluate the performance of model, 9 problems in small, medium and large solved and the results are presented. In view of the time needed to produce a solution and the value obtained for the objective function, the results indicate the model is optimal performance.
