Abstract:
Both basic legal forms of cadaverous donation – presumed and informed consent – demonstrate the value of the right of autonomous choice. The point is to harmonize informed consent with the cardinal principles of deontological ethics: human dignity, autonomous will and moral imperative.
Taking deontological bases into consideration, the second part of this paper shows the resent position of Christians and Muslims in Bulgaria on organ donation by means of sociological data. The title issue id reflected upon through the complex system of relations. Related to both donor and recipient from the perspective of the Islamic dogma and tradition.
