Abstract:
One of the most widely used methods for the utilization of wind energy is the use of doubly fed induction generator. The doubly-fed generatorsare better in the applications of limited-range speed control and large capacity case due to the partially rated inverter, high reliability and lower cost. This study presents two different approaches to controldoubly fed induction generator. Two cases of the best and most privileged control methods, fuzzy and direct torque control areimplemented. Control methods were investigated and their performance was analyzed and compared based on the results of the simulation. Inaddition to, the Grid side is controlled by direct torque control based on a grid voltage position to obtain a constant DC voltage. The resultsindicate that fuzzy control scheme is more complicated than Direct Torque Control and Sensitivity to variation machine parameters inDirect Torque Control method is less than Fuzzy, but the response of fuzzy method is smoother than Direct Torque Control
