Abstract:

Minimum Miscibility Pressure or simply MMP is a minimum pressure at which the two phases would be mixed together completely. MMP plays effective role in miscible gas injection projects. Usually in the industry, slim tube apparatus used to obtain this parameter. But this method has special problems; for example it consumes a lot of time when it may does not give any results or its results may have errors. Therefore, a method being fast enough and has appropriate accuracy is favorable. One of these methods is using of compositional model simulations which simulate slim tube test by means of Eclipse 300. So in this paper a simulated slim tube model was applied to calculate the MMP of CO2 injection process in an oil sample. The calculated MMP was compared with predicted MMP by Glaso empirical correlation and both of which confirm each other. The sensitivity of calculated MMP to number of model grid blocks, rock porosity and permeability was verified. The results stated that CO2 injection MMP is sensitive to rock permeability and grid blocks number but to rock porosity is not noticeably.
