Abstract:
One new complexe of Ni(II) metal ions with a Schiff base ligand (E)-2-(5-bromo-2-hydroxybenzylideneamino)phenol (H2L) have been prepared and characterized. These complexes have been characterized by elemental analyses, FT-IR, UV–Vis, and 1H-NMR spectroscopy. The electrochemical reduction of these complexes is also reported and discussed.Our studies showed that the metal complexes exhibit moderate antibacterial activity, and their antibacterial activity is higher than that of the ligand against both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria
