Abstract:

To understand fluctuations of groundwater resources is vital in the planning and long term sustainable water resources management. Water resources in a given area vary upon enormous factors among which climate is most outstanding. Climate in turn serves as major input for rainfall in hydrologic cycle. The present research aims to shed light on effect of some factors as precipitation and snow covers area and it's Impact on groundwater tables in Tuyserkan plain, Hamadan province. MODIS/Aqua Snow Cover 8-Day from 2000 to 2012 between Novembers to May interval was considered to obtain snow cover area. The effect of precipitation and snow cover on groundwater table was analyzed since 2000 to 2012 as per neural networks and linear regression. The results showed that precipitation and snow cover exhibit their highest impacts two and three months later on underground water table, among which, later impose greater impacts on water table. At the same time, interaction of foregoing factors is trifle on groundwater table and precipitation and snow cannot compensate overutilization of groundwater in the study area.
