Abstract:

A highly efficient and general method for the synthesis of 1,8-dioxodecahydroacridine is established through a one-pot multicomponent cyclocondensation of aromatic aldehyde and ammonium acetate with 2 equivalents dimedone using nanomesoporous silica supported SnCl2 as a catalyst. Mesoporous molecular sieves consist of an ordered array of silica tubules comprised of pores with uniform controllable diameters in the nanometer rang (2-10 nm). In this method SnCl2/mesoporous silica was used as green and reusable catalyst. Excellent yields, short reaction times, simple workup, and inexpensiveness and commercially availability of the catalyst are the advantages of this method.
