Chemical Elements in Productive Series Rocks of Baku Archipelago: The Quantitative Characteristics and Regularities of Change on the Section abstract
Here we study materials dealing with rocks of oil and gas bearing region of Baku archipelago in Bulla-deniz field and in other fields. There is data of chemical elements distribution and mineralogical composition in oil bearing sedimentary rocks. Quantitative and qualitative distribution of chemical elements in PS is found in Bulla-deniz and adjacent fields. A great amount of CaO, BaO, SO3 is present in lower division and prevailing Na2O, MgO, Al2O3, P3Os, K2O, TiO2, MnO, Fl;O3 in upper division. Significant content of silicon-acid in some clay sandstones, PS formations of Bulla-deniz and other adjacent sections will allow to suggest that this is connected not only with terrigenous admixture but also with the colloidal silica presence in it. This is confirmed by X-ray analysis of these rocks on their diffraction there is observed the presence of significant amount of amorphous matter. High adsorption properties of colloidal silica due to high surface energy provided to these rocks enrichment by organic matter and retention of bitumen in them. According to the composition the clay component is polymineral in sandstones and siltstones. It consists of hydromica, montmorillonite, kaolinite, chlorite, mixed-layered minerals of hydromicaceous-montmorillonite composition. These minerals in the mentioned types of rocks behave as nonequivalent on the section as well. Hydromica prevails mostly but it gives place to the montmorillonite and kaolinite in separate intervals of the section. Other clay minerals are also changeable in their quantitative relation. Comparative analysis of PS rocks according to studied sections showed they are greatly differed by quantitative correlation in upper and lower divisions of PT of Baku archipelago. Quartz and feldspars are prevailed in upper division. This correlation of minerals affects the chemical composition of rocks. SiO2 content of Bulla-deniz section rocks exceeds 58%. Calcium, barite, kaolinite, montmorillonite in some places graphite are in lower division of PS. Significant high content of these minerals in lower division for rocks of Baku archipelago in Bulladeniz section allowed to suppose this can be connected both with terrigenous admixture and high pressure and temperature at large depths.
