Examining the Concept of Ghazal

Persian Ghazal is a perfect representation of Persian literature and as a result Iranian race culture and civilization. Many romantic meanings showing the delicate ideas and tender feelings of Iranian and many mystical themes representing the complex and highly respected wide range of this race's thinking, have been manifested in ghazals. Persian ghazal is the most beautiful and richly decorated of Persian poetic forms, the poet trying to draw upon his/her art thoroughly. The language of ghazal is the essence and a selected variety of Persian poems. The words, in this poetic form, are the best selected, smooth and tested ones. Its meters are the softest and the most melodic of Persian prosody and its devices are a collection of the best figures of speech. In terms of themes, it contains the most general and highest human emotions. With a look at the general theme of ghazal, this article has tried to examine the emergence and evolution of this Persian poetic form.
