Abstract:
One of the main issues regarding the DC motor, which is attracting the investigations, is the speed control of DC motor problem. This paper designs an optimal controller based on the artificial bee colony (ABC) algorithm. In this paper, the single-criteria and multi-criteria objective functions including system parameters are considered. In the multi-criteria cost function, a sensitivity analysis is used to find the best value of weighted coefficients. Some elements influence on the results such as: maximum overshoot, settling time, rise time, steady state error, and integral absolute error (IAE). Throughout the simulation process, the artificial bee colony algorithm is evaluated from time convergence, speed convergence, and best cost points of view. The results indicate that the ABC algorithm has a powerful performance to find the best values for FOPID and PID variables. Also, in different objective functions, the FOPID controller is capable to obtain the desirable system response
