Abstract:
The hospital information system (HIS), as a comprehensive and integrated information system, has a considerable role in managing the administrative and clinical information of hospitals. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate the effective factors on accepting HIS by the users of Shiraz public hospitals. This study is going to answer two important questions: what are the effective factors on accepting the hospital information system by the users? and how effective is each factor? The UTAULT model, as the most complete model for the acceptance of technology, was considered as the basis of the study. The data are obtained by using questionnaire from 7 hospitals in Shiraz and were investigated by using SPSS and Lisrel softwares. Our findings showed that the UTAUT model did not have enough fit for Iranian health centers. In this investigation, the arrangement of the model was modified by using Lisrel software, and consequently a model with enough fit was provided which covered 89 percent of the available factors in the UTAUT model. This model can recognize the effective factors on acceptance and usage of the hospital information systems in Iran, and can be used by the researchers and managers of the health centers.
