Abstract:
This study looks to clarify blunders including derivational morphology in L2 French generation, for example, Les Français sont très sexualités the French are exceptionallysexuality, where the ostensible addition - ité wrongly shows up on the descriptive base sexuel. The inquiry that emerges is whether learners have adequate syntacticinformation of L2 derivational morphology to recognize that a derivational postfix changes the syntactic classification of its base, prompting ungrammaticality (Lardiere2002, Tyler and Nagy 1191). A trial crossing derivationally-related suffixed shapeswith their bases tried learners affectability to the utilization of these structures in theunseemly syntactic setting. The outcomes appear to demonstrate that learners are touchy to the nearness or nonattendance of postfixes, proposing that such creation mistakes as the one above are a matter of execution, not capability. The respondents tothis study are a sum of 22 understudies that voluntarily took an interest in this pilot: 12from a second semester institute French class, 12 from fourth semester unlike the present study that only focused on seven sixth semester learners. A pilot study was atfirst prompted test understudies cognizance of phonetically wrong structures including derivational morphology. The present study included an extended instrument containing every one of the four sentences from each fourfold or more distracters, bringing the aggregate number of things to 109.
