Abstract:

The effect of vibration on natural heat transfer from a vertical plate, 0.4 meter wide and 0.4 meter high in air was investigated experimentally. Three different amplitudes of 2, 6 and 7.2 cm at the same frequency of 1.54 Hz were considered. Experiments were performed at laminar regime. Vibration enhances the heat transfer rate. Increasing the vibration amplitude increases the heat transfer coefficient and this effect is more significant in greater amplitudes of vibration.
