Abstract:
This work deals with estimation of temperature dependent binary interaction parameters (kij) for the Soave- Redlich-Kwong (SRK) equation of state (EoS) using a group contribution method. In this paper five groups, namely CH3, CH2, CH, CH4 (methane), and C2H6 (ethane) are defined and their values are optimized. Using this method, it is likely to estimate the kij for any mixture of saturated hydrocarbons (n-alkanes and branched alkanes) at a wide range of temperature.
