A Hybrid Approach for Data Security Improvement in Data Warehouses

Implementing data warehouses for large databases has become one of the major needs at the current time. Having different and small databases, large organizations need to integrate and develop data warehouses properly. Developing a data warehouse helps organization store statistical information that can be useful in the decision-making process. This integrated statistical information (data warehouse) is considered to be useful, comprehensive information on the status of organizations with respect to the type of their activity. This information is also known as an appealing target for internal and external intruders. Given the huge importance of this data, an appropriate approach should be adopted to secure data warehouses. This paper reviews some of the security approaches such as fetched data security solutions and classic models for security and proposes a method based on recording events and users’ activities to identify and find the patterns of internal intruders)
