Abstract:
Graphene is an interesting material that is used in different applications. One of the most important graphene applications is usage as a membrane. Graphene sheet is indeed non-permeable even for smallest molecules as same as hydrogen. In the other hand, there are some research reports that severalmethods are denoted in them, for pore drilling in graphene sheet. This is main idea for membrane application of graphene. Creation selective pore is main advantage that selectivity and permeability increase is result of this pores. Potentially, graphene membrane can be cause of stunning increasing inselectivity. For separation processes, graphene membrane selectivity can be achieved 106, whereas this parameter for traditional membrane is about 103. Selective pore can eliminate the tradeoff between selectivity and permeability. Therefore, graphene membranes are valuable method for separation. In thispaper, latest achievements in graphene-based membrane for water treatment are reviewed.
