Abstract:

In this work, a numerical Collocation approach based on rational Bessel functions is introduced to solve steady flow of a third-grade non-Newtonian fluid in a porous half space. The problem is described as a nonlinear two-point boundary value equation on a semi infinite interval. We find the simplest solution of the non-dimensional fluid velocity function by utilizing Collocation points over the almost whole domain [0,1), and elucidate the effects of different parameters of interest with the graphical and tabular reports. Our method reduces the problem to the solution of a system of nonlinear equations with unknown Bessel coefficients. The results of the comparison between the present solution and other numerical methods illustrate that the approach is accurate and applicable.
