Relationship between team cohesion and achievement with pre-competition non-effectiveness moodCase study: Iranian college Student’s tournaments

Purpose: Appearance of negative behavioral characteristics in athletes before competition and its effects on optimal performance athletes has been the major concerns in coaches and athletes in recent years. The main purpose of this research was relationship between team cohesion and achievement with pre-competition non-effectiveness mood in Iranian College students tournaments. Methodology: Participation consist number of n=252 college student athletes in volleyball(n=68), football(n=86), basketball(n=45) and handball teams(n=53) participated in these research, The Brunel Mood questionnaire with 6 sub-scales(anger, confusion, depression, fatigue, tension, and vigor) and Carron(1985) group environment Questionnaire were used in this research. In order to analysis the data, after use of K_S (p> 0/05), the descriptive statistic (mean, standard error), t test and Pearson coefficients to investigate relation sheep between variables used (p≤0/05).Results: The finding of research showed a significant and negative relation sheep between negative mood with team Cohesion and students achievement (sig≤0/05). Depression(r= -0/45) and Tension (r= -0/56) have higher effect on achievement in winner teams.
