Abstract:
The present study attempted to investigate the effect of studying in the field of English language on cultural identity among Iranian EFL learners. For this purpose, a questionnaire regarding 10 items was administered among 80 male and female students majoring in Englishlanguage at Azad University. The questionnaire on the subject of English language learning and cultural identity was used to figure out the participants perspectives about the changes in theirown culture after studying English. The obtained results revealed that the respondents hold positive attitude towards learning English among Iranians. They have seen learning English as an effectiveinstrument in changing some cultural issues. As far as the results concern, this study proved somehow the effect of learning English language on Iranian female EFL learners cultural identity
