Abstract:
The purpose of this research is to study the aging time effects on the physical properties of aluminapowder obtained from the precipitation method. In this regard, the boehmite gel is prepared with threedifferent aging times (1, 3 & 8 hours) via the hydrolysis of alumina nitrate at the pH of 8.5 and under theoperating condition of 90 ̊C and atmospheric pressure. The produced boehmite gel is then dried at thetemperature of 110 ̊C and after being mixed homogeneously with water and binder, the resulting mixture isextruded. The produced Alumina extrudes in this section, shall be dried in oven and it is calcintated infurnace at 600 ̊CThe final extruded gamma alumina was studied by the Longmuir, BET, BJH techniques and theresults showed that the surface area was over 200 m2/g and the average pore diameter was 3.29-10.55 nm.The crystalline structure of the extruded was studied by the XRD test.
